This is real life. Live in it.
My story
Hello there friend, it’s so nice to meet you. I’m Jenny, a wife and a mom with two teenage boys, heaven help me. It’s a bit crazy some days, but well worth it. I’m also an illustrator, graphic designer, content creator, prop stylist and email marketing maven. I’m pretty much obsessed with design of all kinds.
I have a knack for finding just the right thing and have been decorating my new home piece by piece. Creating a space you love should be fun. I don’t do complicated or fussy. Elevated, but make it easy.
We moved to San Antonio, TX from Charleston, SC - which means we basically traded one gloriously sunny part of the country for another. We completely remodeled our old house by ourselves in Charleston, SC and we wanted to live in our new house for a while before making any changes. Basically we had major burnout. There’s only so much you can handle constantly bouncing from one project to another.
I LOVE our new house and it has the best bones.
It was very neutral. And by neutral, I mean 90s brown and taupe and the world’s weirdest copper/gold color in the dining room, which has been painted now- thank goodness.
So, if you would love to follow along in the transformation, welcome. If you are looking for a crazy gut or rebuild job this is not it.
I’m doing the little things that transform my home that won’t break the bank. Real life on a real budget, with luxe touches and home hacks that help make your home look perfectly you. I don’t believe you have to start all over to create a home you love to live in.
I also believe that how we live in our home is the most important part. How we celebrate and entertain and create a life we love has always been and important factor. So I’ll be here sharing how you can do that too.
If you feel the same way, welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
Where I’ve been
I previously ran a party and diy website called Hank & Hunt. I’ve created content for the likes of Design*Sponge, Oh Happy Day, Minted, HP, Better Homes & Gardens, even Martha Stewart, along with many others. I’ve created hundreds of DIYs and will be sharing lots more.
Check out the blog for inspiration and projects to help create a home you love to live in. The best things in life are the ones you create.
